It's my birthday today! While I'm getting ready for a day out with my family, I thought I'd share one of the beauty related gifts I received this morning. I've been coveting the new Marc Jacobs fragrance since its mainstream release last week and was so thrilled when I opened this little parcel! I had a lovely time chilling out in my garden taking these photos, but came back inside only to realise there was a bee stuck in my hair. A BEE! Anyone who knows me will get how utterly terrifying that was for me, I have a complete phobia of them and have somehow managed to go 25 years without being stung (luckily I still haven't). I'm not sure my neighbours appreciated some crazy screaming girl taking off all her clothes but if you can't run around naked on your birthday, when can you?

Having been a devotee to Daisy Eau So Fresh, but never truly enamoured with the follow-up fragrances, I was secretly praying I'd be a fan of Marc's newest perfume release. Luckily, Daisy Dream is just my cup of tea - a fresh fruity floral with an undoutably sunny disposition. The eau de toilette opens with a mouth-watering burst of succulent blackberry, grapefruit and pear before revealing a heart of rich jasmine, lychee and blue wisteria. On first impression it slightly reminds me of an old Escada perfume I used to love as a teenager, but quickly matures into a more sophisticated scent. The true uniqueness to Daisy Dream lies in its dreamy dry-down - notes of coconut water, white woods and feminine musks are both light and effortlessly comforting.

A free-spirited and fun fragrance, Daisy Dream is sure to be the scent of my summer. Plus, do I even need to mention the bottle? Marc Jacobs, you've done it again.

Have you tried Daisy Dream? What did you think?
