Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks

I've loved Charlotte Tilbury's products since first trying Wonderglow and her K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Penelope Pink, so naturally when she launched this latest range I had to give them a whirl. I actually picked these three up around Christmas last year, no idea why it's taken me so long to get this up (sorry!) but better late than never.

Charlotte's Matte Revolution lipsticks are a world away from traditional 'matte' products - don't expect your lips to look flat, dry and lifeless with these gems. The long-lasting formula provides a punch of gorgeous, buildable matte colour but with a revolutionary moisturising formula - enriched with lipstick tree and orchid extracts to sooth and hydrate delicate skin.

The lipsticks boast a carefully concocted blend of oils and waxes to ensure the colour really lasts, 3D pigments that create the illusion of fuller and wider lips that look 'lit-from-within', and come in 10 stunning shades.

It's safe to say I was excited to try them...

So do these little rose gold tubes live up to their very impressive claims? Definitely so!

The shades I'm wearing above are (from left to right) Very Victoria, Birkin Brown and Walk of Shame. According to the Charlotte Tilbury Website, Very Victoria is inspired by Victoria Beckham, a suede, taupe nude for those who buck the trend like Brigitte Bardot. Birkin Brown is inspired by the icon, a timelessly elegant soft chocolate cream for Naomi Campbell and Jane Birkin. And Walk of Shame is a beautiful, berry tinted rose for antique chic, perfect for Christina Hendricks and Margot Robbie.

My first impressions of the lipstick was how wonderful their shape was - I wish all lip products came like this! The square angled tip mimic the shape of a lip brush of a more precise application than typical bullets, and meant I could eschew the lip liner for once - these lipsticks give a defined shape all on their own.

The colours are just stunning and really do leave lips soft and glowing. On me, Very Victoria is a lovely dark nude. Birkin Brown is the perfect Kylie Jenner-esque tribute to 90s chic. And Walk of Shame (my favourite of the three) is my go-to colour for when I want a red lip but can't be arsed with the upkeep all day. These babies stay put without having to check your face in the mirror every five minutes and that's definitely all right with me.
