Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Estée Lauder Double Wear is officially the UK's bestselling foundation, and I can totally see why. Before trying Double Wear I didn't really see the point in foundation, in my experience they either didn't provide enough coverage to warrant the price tags or left skin looking dry and cakey. But after a brief, yet eye-opening, fling with the now discontinued Chanel Pro Lumière, I was a convert.

It was around this time that a makeup artist told me Double Wear was the only foundation a particular top model would let anyone use on her skin, thanks to its unbeatable coverage. That swayed me into buying a bottle... and I've never looked back. It really does provide the perfect amount of cover, whilst still giving skin an enviable lit-from-within glow.

The foundation is also non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, making it ideal for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin like mine - I love that it doesn't break me out. I can also vouch for its impressive 15 hour wear time, although I do like to set it with powder to ensure it stays in place.

My favourite way to apply it is with an Artis Brush (review coming soon), a Beauty Blender or just my fingertips. For a natural look, you only need a tiny amount to cover the whole face - literally just the amount shown in the photos!

Over the years I've bought Double Wear in a fair few different colours, but the above two are the ones in my current rotation. Ecru, a pale neutral shade (right in the photos) is the closest match to my skin, while the warmer Sand (left) is my go-to for when I'm wearing fake tan. Estée Lauder recently extended the range to include 30 different colours, so you're sure to find one that suits you.
