Makeup Artist Staples

There are a few things that every makeup artist will have in their kit. Without fail. Even if they work for rival brands, they'll still have them - and wax lyrical about them all given half the chance. This can
only mean one thing... each product is the absolute best on the market at what it does.

Above are a few beauty must-haves I've spotted time and time again - not only in the possession of makeup artists, but in fashion editors' beauty bags and on friends' bathroom cabinets. If you're not familiar with the above products, let me introduce you...

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a nourishing moisturiser that's been a cult hit since the 1950s. The reason makeup artists always have it on hand is because it's so gentle, and really soothes any red or irritated skin anywhere on the body! The creamy, hydrating texture also makes the perfect primer for makeup - take my word for it, your foundation will never look as smooth.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers are another iconic product that has stood the test of time. For some reason, unbeknown to me, they're just the best ones on the market... and I've tried a fair few! You can get a really firm grip with these, but the soft silicone pads and pressure-sensitive hinges make sure your lashes are looked after.

Finally, the Duo Eyelash Adhesive. Now you know this is good because MAC stock it instead of selling their own branded glue. This latex formula is the most long-lasting around. Seriously, it stays put overnight... it's even stuck on through showers! I love that the Dark Tone colour is available in the UK now - you can avoid the dreaded white residue and it blends perfectly with black liquid eyeliner, even if you make a mistake positioning the lashes first time around.

Have you tried these? What other makeup artist staples would you recommend?
