Birchbox: December 2015

December Birch Box rosy cherrington

It may be somewhat unheard of in blogger territory, but I've never actually tried a Birchbox. Or a Glossybox, or any other monthly beauty subscription box for that matter. I did once try a period subscription box however (which you can read about here) and loved it.

Anyway, I digress! So Birchbox sent me their lovely 'Luxe Birchbag', which is limited edition for December 2015, featuring five mini beauty treats specially selected for party season.

Here's what was in the velvet, glittery clutch bag...

Benefit Puff Off! and They're Real Push-Up Liner Duo
A super small version of Benefit's long-lasting liquid eyeliner (perfect for a night out) and their de-puffing eye cream (to help you through the morning after). These basically both do what they say on the tin. I already have the full size of the Push-Up Liner and I must admit, I do find the formula a bit crumbly. Buuuut, having said that, once you get the hang of using it, it really does stay put forever. Like, you could die still wearing this.

ModelCo Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Smitten
The perfect red lipstick for when you want a red lipstick, but not a red lipstick. Nothing pillar box or pin-up - think a more high fashion wash in a berry hue. Top tip: apply the colour once, blot with a tissue and then reapply for an extra deep pigment.

Ciaté London Mini Paint Pot in Social Elite
This is pretty much the nail polish equivalent of a Christmas tree - green, gold and twinkling. As always with Ciaté, the quality brush and formula made it a breeze to apply.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré
A hydrating moisturiser that makes the perfect base for makeup. I love this stuff and use it already, you can read a more in-depth review on the blog here.

Rituals T'ai Chi Foaming Shower Gel
This silky gel transforms into a luxurious skin-softening foam, with a calming fragrance of white lotus and yi yi ren. In fairness I did feel calm AF after using.

Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris Eau de Parfum
Kind of like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, except I can actually smell this without instantly wanting to vomit (I once wore the Chanel during a particularly bad hangover and the smell is ruined forever). The notes are pretty fruity - mandarin, red grapefruit, pear - but the oriental amber and musk keep things ever so sophisticated.
